The Bear 100 takes place on the bumpy boundary between summer and winter in northern Utah, with the Finish in Idaho. This year was somewhat wintery, and the scenery combined spectacularly-colored foliage with snow-brushed evergreens, under and in moving fog - magical! Unfortunately, the icy descents after mile 55 got the better of me, and I dropped at the next aid station at mile 62 at 2:30am, thus missing more scenery in the next day's sunshine.
